When you read this I will already be in Nashville for cabi's conference known as The Scoop. Taking place at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Conference Center, this event brings together thousands of cabi stylists from around the globe (they're in Canada and the UK as well as the US). I'm honored cabi invited me; stay tuned on social media where I'll be sharing behind the scenes of the event and some of the cool things I will be participating in while I'm here!
Karl captured these photos before I headed to the airport Thursday afternoon. This jacket has become a traveling favorite because it doesn't wrinkle and is the relaxed polished effect I like for travel. I added the cabi scarf and glad I did for there were two cabi stylists on my plane, hundreds at the Nashville airport, and as I said last night on InstaStories, the resort is full of women all essentially dressed alike thanks to everyone wearing cabi. I fit right in!
Ricardo Beverly Hills provided luggage to those of us bloggers invited to cabi Scoop. This suitcase is a hair larger than my Delsey one but still fits just fine in the airplane overhead compartment. The tote has so many pockets, it can hold everything and it's easy to find your wallet or a bottle of water with one hand while it's on your shoulder. These bags fit so much; I have four pairs of shoes in that suitcase, as well as more than enough outfits for three days away from home. I like the grey fabric exterior; it's very chic, subtle yet easy to recognize at the baggage claim, and neutral enough that Karl wouldn't mind using it.
I'll be sure to share a recap of The Scoop after I return. Can't wait to meet those of you who are cabi stylists and attending this event!

Some of the CAbi Fall 2011 Collection After my first experience with Carol Anderson by Invitation (CAbi) clothing, I really wanted to see the fall collection. Many of you readers told me that I needed to see more of this line, that they did have dresses and skirts, that their collections coordinated not just within…
When reader Grace mentioned in my last post’s comments that I usually dress up on this blog I asked my husband to snap a couple pics this weekend of my casual look. I am one to dress up whenever possible (yep, I’m the chick in the heels and dress at every shower, party, and family…
I love this White House | Black Market charcoal jersey dress. It is so easy to throw on when you’re have a DAY. Today I styled this effortless dress with a black obi belt, silver and bloodstone necklace, and tall black leather wide calf boots. Read on for specific details on this winter work-friendly outfit….
Christmas Eve, I worked until 3pm and then headed to the insanely busy grocery store to get the needed supplies for the next day (my responsibility was Bloody Mary supplies and hors d’ourves for the brunch). True Maryland Bloody Mary – mix, Old Bay seasoning, celery, olives, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and even an…

I wanted to tell you that I love love love this outfit! I found the blazer online at macys.com (on sale for $75 after all discounts were applied!) and finally tried it on last night. I love how it fits! I have a similar pair of jeans and a striped top. I can’t wait to replicate this look!
Two things…I have a pair of shoes almost like these I can’t wait to wear with jeans and last week a man next to me on 2nd leg of a flight recognized me because he thought I was “dressed to fly” that no one does anymore. I was dressed just like you are in this photo! People notice when we make an effort!-Laurel
Loving the pattern on that scarf and those gorgeous Aerosole purple flats! You look poised, polished and ready for a long flight. Have fun and keep us apprised.
It’s an interesting brand and concept. The original designer sold her clothes at Nordstrom and other nice department stores but hated how she had to adjust her style to appeal to buyers and essentially lose control of her business. She decided to sell it by appointment (cabi stands for Carol Anderson by Invitation). The company won’t join the organization that other at-home sales companies are part of because they don’t want to be seen as an MLM and they run differently from those sorts of at-home companies. It’s a new way to shop, especially wonderful in this day and age of shuttering brick and mortar businesses, the lack of a personal touch with online shopping, and the craptastic in-person customer service at so many stores due to lack of payroll hours and training money. The quality is quite good and I find the pieces pretty versatile for a variety of personal styles but also a variety of body shapes.
Late comment, but I absolutely love the gray texture on that luggage set. You look like you mean business. <3

You look polished. Those shoes really make the outfit. Have a wonderful trip.

That is so true! When we dress with effort, whether people realize it or not, they give us more respect.
This is perfect for traveling. The jacket and scarf are good transition pieces that you can adjust depending on the weather.

Thank you so much Sonia! <3
You look wonderful as usual. I love the scarf. If it is any indication of cabi’s offerings, I am interested.
