Picture 0021Picture 004Saturday, my sister and I went to the mall, then had a late lunch at our favorite Greek diner. We came back to my place for a movie night and a late-evening snack of oranges, samosas and a nice bottle of Spanish wine (for those who want to know, we saw Hairspray and Waitress). She spent the night and the next morning we called up our mom for a girl's brunch… again at the same Greek diner!

Not a fancy place, and not really pumped up to get all fashionista on a cold cold rainy day; I put on a coral ribbed tank from Old Navy, a blue marled wool sweater from a thrift store, dark denim skirt from Gap and my tan Bern boots from Duo. Silver hoops and cuff bracelet. After pictures, I looped my turquoise pashmina around my neck.

Hair was second day; I blew it straight very quickly with a round brush and dryer.

Makeup was L'Oreal True Match concealer in W1-3, philosophy The Supernatural in Beige, Nars blush in Orgasm and Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara.

After brunch, I dropped my sister off at the Metro, my mom back at home and headed home to address and write all the holiday cards, wrap all the presents, wash the dishes and the bathroom, finish the laundry and watch some mindless television. Nothing terribly exciting.

New pants!  These were originally $110 but on sale for $49.50 at Ann Taylor.  They are charcoal with a gray faint stripe on them and the sort of fabric that can be worn year-round.  Nice flat waist with a tab waistband so it doesn’t dig, it doesn’t roll, it doesn’t highlight a muffin top.  Hurrah. …
