Friday I had the day off. As you can see by the picture, my husband was pretty happy about it! This is a super casual outfit – we started the day by having breakfast with my mom (and Emerson of course!). We then ran a couple errands but spent the rest of the day together really low-key at home.
I am wearing an all-Gap outfit here. A white ribbed tank from this summer, a seafoam green cashmere tank that I bought on the clearance rack at Gap a couple years ago, and my Gap Essential jeans. Silver chain from Ralph Lauren, Reef “Sandy” flip flops.
Hair is next day, just brushed and done. Makeup is pretty basic – Cargo Matte BeachBlush in Tenerife, some Cover Girl LashBlast mascara in Rich Black, Stila Lip Glaze in Fruit Cake.
It was a much-needed brak to have the day off. Life has been so hectic, I can't remember what day it is, and if something I remember is part of a dream, a book I read on the train or reality! Luckily this coming weekend is a five-day one for me. It also is the weekend of my dear friend's wedding and I am looking forward to it! ๐

Philosophyโs The Present Clear Makeup: Wow, I thought I knew primers until I tried this stuff out! Most primers seem to do very little on my skin โ make the foundation last a bit longer, give a more even finish to the skin, reduce the look of pores. Nice, but nothing shocking. Often I find… Continue Reading Product Reviews – Benefit and Philosophy
My husbandโs birthday was this past weekend, and itโs known as usually being a beautiful weekend in DCโฆ one of the last of the season. Weโve made it a tradition to go away as a couple for his birthday weekend. In 2012, I was working at an office in Washington, D.C. I commuted via the Metro and every day walking to the Farragut North station, I’d pass an Ann Taylor store. That spring, I saw a chiffon maxi skirt in the window that drew me in. I had absolutely no need for such a skirt;… Continue Reading Then and Now
Some days I glam up with bright colors, and some days I keep it simple with a look of black on black on black.ย This is what I wore last Saturday for a day of errand running that started with a quick coffee date with Karl at our favorite coffee place – Vigilante.ย It was… Continue Reading Casual Cold-Weather Look for a Coffee Run

I really need to scan some pics of me and my husband from when we were babies – she REALLY looks like my husband. Actually she also looks a LOT like my sister! ๐
I don’t think I’ve ever commented on this blog, that said, In this pic, your husband’s face looks just like Emerson’s. It really should be the other way around, but she definitely looks a lot like him when she grins. Nice pics, enjoy the 5 day weekend!!
