Friday I had the day off. As you can see by the picture, my husband was pretty happy about it! This is a super casual outfit – we started the day by having breakfast with my mom (and Emerson of course!). We then ran a couple errands but spent the rest of the day together really low-key at home.
I am wearing an all-Gap outfit here. A white ribbed tank from this summer, a seafoam green cashmere tank that I bought on the clearance rack at Gap a couple years ago, and my Gap Essential jeans. Silver chain from Ralph Lauren, Reef “Sandy” flip flops.
Hair is next day, just brushed and done. Makeup is pretty basic – Cargo Matte BeachBlush in Tenerife, some Cover Girl LashBlast mascara in Rich Black, Stila Lip Glaze in Fruit Cake.
It was a much-needed brak to have the day off. Life has been so hectic, I can't remember what day it is, and if something I remember is part of a dream, a book I read on the train or reality! Luckily this coming weekend is a five-day one for me. It also is the weekend of my dear friend's wedding and I am looking forward to it! 🙂
Please forgive any spelling errors – Blogger did an upgrade and no longer seems to have a Spellcheck function (UGH). Also the photo upload feature is different so layouts will be a bit different as I play around and see what works for this blog!

Black jersey wrap dress from Talbots, black tall boots from Ros Hamerson, silver chain from Ralph Lauren, silver earrings from Treehouse, my silver cuff and chain with wedding band (put on after photo). … and I am not ashamed to share it with my daughter. And I KNOW many of you know what book this is. Hopefully some of you also know what CD cover she is holding as well. I held off on reading this book for a very long time. My sister finally passed her well-worn…
I am working from home because I an not feeling so hot. Black yoga pants, black Bravado Body Silk nursing bra which looks a bit like a cropped tank. Peeking out of a hot pink scoop tee from Gap that is a bit too big. Desperate need of a shower, which I will do once…
Dress: NY & Company (similar) Necklace: Lilith Fringe Necklace c/o Kristin Biggs, Stella and Dot Shoes: Miss Sixty (similar) Umbrella: Birthday present (similar) Another rainy day in DC, I figured how better to battle the weather blues than with a bright red dress? When I tweeted that I received this gorgeous necklace from my Stella…
Black cotton wrap shirt from Ann Taylor, black stretch poplin trousers (front crease ironed in) by Caslon, black synthetic cami from Victoria’s Secret, black city boots from Impo (wanted to wear the leopard heels but it was very cold out and I thought I may have to walk to a different building for a meeting),…
It happens to everyone, even runway models who are paid to walk… I walk fast. If you are married to a person who is over a foot taller than you, you learn how to walk quickly. At work, I am often on Webinars and conference calls and online trainings where I have to type, “BRB!”…
I really need to scan some pics of me and my husband from when we were babies – she REALLY looks like my husband. Actually she also looks a LOT like my sister! 🙂
I don’t think I’ve ever commented on this blog, that said, In this pic, your husband’s face looks just like Emerson’s. It really should be the other way around, but she definitely looks a lot like him when she grins. Nice pics, enjoy the 5 day weekend!!
