It's humid and rainy outside, muggy in the house, frigid in the office… this calls for an updo. Too bad, as I got my hair cut on Saturday and it looks pretty cute! As for the umbrella, this was a happy accident that it matches the outfit – I was searching for my leopard one and came across this one instead. Still haven't found the leopard umbrella, but happy to dust off the nautical stripes!

Time to get that hair cut! Even though I have been seeing my stylist for a while, I feel that you should dress and do your face as you would every day for a visit to the salon. Dress in sweats and the stylist doesn’t really get your sense of style and your personality. I…

Today will probbaly be a short one, as that there is to be a major snowstorm in the DC area that will start around lunchtime.  The Federal government (AKA most of my clients) is shutting down four hours early, so my afternoon assignments may be postponed.  My boss said that once the snow starts to…

  1. Allie. I just love, love, love when you wear your hair up, and you always pick the perfect outfit with it. This is one of mu favorite looks on you. I know you kinda prefer a more rock n’ roll look, but you ALWAYS work the ladylike look so well!! Love it!

  3. I’m not sure you could be any cuter today!  Can’t wait to see the new hair.  I just cut 8 inches off mine and I’m feeling quite sassy.  Love your shoes, too!

  5. I have worked in the DC area (on an occasional detail), take the Metro, and love it.  However,  I am amazed at anyone who could wear those shoes to, from, and on the Metro!  In that weather, no less! You have to be a true fashionista to do that!  My clumsy self would have face-planted in about five seconds!

  7. Love the skirt! It kind of looks like lace. The whole look is very pretty and flattering.

  8. I love your outfit and these pictures are just too fabulous for words! The pattern mixing is fabulous including the umbrella.

  9. I’m not sure about the black peeptoes with the look – I think it’s too harsh against all the light colours.  I’d have loved to see it with a red shoe, to tie in with the belt colour.  Other than that I think it’s a cute outfit and love how the umbrella ties with the look!

  11. There is something to classic about this outfit…. yet so very modern and trendy.
I think you just found perfection.

  13. Ooooh! love this ladylike look on you (not that you aren’t always a lady, but…). And maybe it’s just that you rarely wear your hair up, but it’s just perfect – and you should do it more often!
