Vigilante Coffee is in Hyattsville, Maryland and a favorite place for me to go with Karl or friends for coffee and chatting, a yummy pastry, or even to telework away from the home.
With Emerson at a sleepover, Karl and I had time for a date at Vigilante. I'm drinking their Hyattschilla, a drink made with espresso and salted caramel ice cream. Yes it was as delicious as it sounds!
When I attended cabi Scoop, I saw a preview of their New Arrivals collection Penny Lane Lovely and could not WAIT for it to arrive. While I loved many pieces from it I immediately fell for this sweater. I loved the camel and black combination, and could see how it would work so well with orange, red, green, plum, mustard, and all the autumnal colors that are hot this season. I loved the ruffle detail on the wrist and how the cuffs have thumb holes so I can pull down the sleeves and keep my hands warm in winter. Like all cabi clothing, it was so smartly designed for wear, but also for coordinating with previous seasons of cabi.
Speaking of smartly designed… the jewelry I'm wearing is all cabi, and almost all of it works double duty. The bracelet is actually part of the Bon Vivant Necklace. It's a pretty necklace but has little clasps to remove one portion and turn it into a bracelet.
The chain is the Buzz Necklace, which has several connectors hidden in the design to turn it into smaller necklaces or even a bracelet. The long pearl necklace? It's actually two of the Heritage necklaces hooked together! You can see me wear the Buzz and Heritage necklaces as shorter pieces in this outfit post. Even the Deidre Scarf, it's a perfect length where I can double it around my neck without choking myself and have also worn the scarf as a belt.
cabi shared a video on Facebook on customizing jeans and I decided to try their tips on my pair of cabi Slim Boyfriend jeans. I love the look of these jeans but with my height rolling them up to a proper length looked bulky. I trimmed, washed, and love the result!
And I love the result of pairing the distressed denim with dressy jewelry. I've always been a fan of mixing high with low, and this look really encompasses it for a style that's perfect for brunch with friends, Casual Friday in the office… or a coffee date with your sweetheart. cabi really covers all the sartorial bases for one's life. I often wear cabi to work, I've worn cabi for evening events, and for casual weekends. Visit the Looks Page on cabi's site to see fabulous looks by occasion to see cabi's true versatility.

After my recent spring capsule wardrobe, I had some folks reach out asking if I would consider putting together a spring work-friendly capsule wardrobe. One of my DMs on Instagram mentioned they purchased the Old Navy blazer and matching trousers so I decided to make a spring to summer workwear capsule wardrobe based on those…
Jacket: LOFT (similar) | Tank: c/o J.Jill | Pants: LOFT | Shoes: Nine West | Bracelet: Rebecca Minkoff | Lipstick: Korres Guava Lipstick in Wine Red I swore off LOFT for a while, the quality had really gone downhill and the sizing was inconsistent. However, this winter I tried them again and found some great…
If you’re a grown woman with a large bust, you KNOW why I had to write this post! Google swimsuits for large busts, and you’ll have plenty of articles, but they feature styles that are no match for the breasts of grown women who have led adventurous lives and been blessed by gravity. I know…
Okay, I am totally writing this while a winter storm warning is coming for my area but this is about my favorite swimsuit. I love fun swimsuits, sexy swimsuits, statement swimsuits, and suits that suck in and lift up. But to be honest, the Lands’ End Tugless has been a mainstay in my wardrobe for…
You know I love Nordstrom, and I especially love the retailer at sale time. Free shipping, free returns without a time limit, and high quality items that are often seasonally appropriate. Below are my picks from the Nordstrom Half-Yearly sale which is taking place now through June 4, 2017.
Very sad about my domain hosting provider being idiots – sort of blogging to no one for I cannot even see my blog at this time. Hopefully it will soon be remedied, and thanks to all for sticking through this stupidity! 🙂 Attire: Gap: Indigo cotton shirt Old Navy: Black pencil skirt Steven: Red pumps…
And it’s weird how some brands (Ann Taylor for example) used to do that and stopped. Maybe because they have to be consistent with factories and suppliers? I guess that would cost more, but I think it would be worth the cost. Seriously, I have cabi pants from this past spring that perfectly match a year-old cabi jacket. It’s so brilliant!
This is relaxed enough that I can tuck in and blouse out. When I wore it a different day with boyfriend jeans I did a half tuck. So on you it may be more fitted, but I don’t think so much that the stripes will be distorted or it will be skin tight. If I had a smaller bust I could have possibly done a L instead of XL.
You look fantastic. Love the camel and black stripes – very pretty with your skin and hair. And a related note, how do you like your Claire V clutch? I’ve been thinking about investing but haven’t yet been able to pull the trigger on such an expensive clutch. I don’t have trouble spending money on bags but I’ve always figured I can easily get a cheaper clutch. But they are beautiful…
Thank you! Yes, this was a splurge. I’ve compared Clare V clutches to copies for less and they are better quality. I always figured I’d get one of her leopard calfhair ones but I saw it in person and didn’t know if I’d use it as much as I thought. then I saw this one and was pretty much obsessed by the texture, the gloss, the color, the everything. It’s really heavy leather, not lined, but well shaped and made. I felt this was more like one I’d wear now and 20 years from now and the color is weird but not too weird, texture not too odd so it stands out but isn’t too trendy. This one I think would be hard to replicate cheaper and not have it look cheap.
You look fantastic!
Thanks Heather!
Loving all your accessories!

I like that the items from one season will work with the next. Why doesn’t everyone do that? It would promote btand loyalty.

Love that! You look so amazing and “put together”!
Thanks so much Dianne!
Allie-How does the striped top fit you? I’m a 16W/1X and worried it will be too tight since you’re smaller. Thank you 🙂

Great. Thanks!
