I LOVE a statement shoe! A crazy print, a color or texture that draws attention, and unexpected detail. Such a shoe can transform a look… heck an entire wardrobe! Payless invited me to check out their latest collection and I was in awe at all the great statement shoes like this red to black ombre glitter pump. First time I wore them it was with a pair of dark jeans, a band, tee, and a black blazer. But this is the kind of shoe that is begging to attend a holiday party so I styled it with a little red frock in my wardrobe. I think next time I'll wear with leather leggings and my oversized black cashmere sweater to add an unexpected touch of sparkle and color to the ensemble and I can see myself wearing them to “desk to drinks” a black sheath in my wardrobe.

Statement shoes are something I think every woman needs in her wardrobe to achieve personal style, but I don't believe in breaking the bank to incorporate trends and fun into your closet. While I may race to Payless for Emerson's next size of ballet slippers or a pair of comfortable work shoes for me, it's also a place I go to for on-trend, special occasion and everyday stylish footwear for a fraction of the price of other retailers. I was also admiring these wedge boots and these shimmery gold D'Orsay pumps. Seriously, check out Payless this holiday (and check out Payless on Pinterest), I think you'll like what you see.

We had a wedding to photograph – well my husband and father-in-law do the photography, I do the coordination. Chose to wear my red dress from Maggy London because I would be easy to find in the crowd, I wouldn’t get wrinkled, would stay cool and had pockets to hold my cell and business cards….

Hair was washed but not conditioned because I ran…

Hey guys, sorry for the late posts. Work has gotten busier and it seems that it flies by and next thing I know I didn’t post my outfit. Then to top it off, internet has been acting up at home. Ah well, it happens. Gotta bring home the Tofurky bacon! Navy stretch cotton v-neck sweater…

  1. I was in a Payless yesterday and I saw those shoes and thought ‘HEY! These look just like the ones I saw on W.O.” But it didn’t actually occur to me that they were the same shoe. I tried it on and it was also reasonably wide (a plus for me) and pretty comfortable.
They also have that red ombre sparkle shoe in a flat. So cute.

  2. You look amazing! And I did pretend, for my own amusement, that this outfit might just be a little wink to the recent ombre red Starbuck’s cup brouhaha 😉

  3. Beautiful! I recently bought some “statement shoes” at Payless because it’s easier for me to justify buying fun/silly/occasion shoes at low price points.

  4. I love Payless shoes. I bought riding boots last winter that are still going strong (and are waterproof!) for $35 with coupons. And their DexFlex shoes are so comfortable! I have the basic flats in about six different colors and styles.
